This is education, not advice
The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you whether the looseness in your abdomen sits above or below the navel, or whether an operation is appropriate for your health or your circumstances.
A shorter scar is not a smaller risk
A mini tummy tuck is still an operation under an anaesthetic, and the risks of bleeding, infection, healing problems, fluid collection, persistent numbness and a widened scar apply. Nothing on this site should be read as saying that a shorter incision makes the operation safer.
No outcome is guaranteed
No treatment can be guaranteed. How much a mini tummy tuck improves the contour, how the scar settles and how long the change holds vary between individuals, and the result is judged honestly at around three months rather than in the first weeks.
Scars are permanent
Every abdominoplasty leaves a scar, and a shorter scar is shorter rather than absent. Scars mature and soften over a year or more, they do not disappear, and no surgeon can promise that they will be invisible.
